Tipold, Volk, Nessler, Meyerhoff, Lemke, Reeh, Jeroncic, Putzer, Ten Hagen, Riese
weekly Group Session, 14 hoursTue 14.04.26, 08:00 - 09:00
Weekly (each Tuesday) different papers related to veterinary neurology are discussed.
Scheper, Schwieger
single Workshop, 4 hours, max. 15 participantsTue 05.05.26, 09:00 - 13:00
Aim of this course is to provide participants with knowledge regarding the sense of hearing, inner ear pathologies, and potential therapies. Based on this, the development of new therapeutic strategies within this domain and their progression towards clinical implementation will be discussed.
A first lecture block will give an overview about the physiology of hearing and the special anatomy of the inner ear, followed by common pathologies and their corresponding in vitro and in vivo models. The second block will introduce existing therapeutic options and examples for the development, testing, and translation of novel therapeutic approaches into clinical application will be presented.
The course culminates with a tour of our laboratories, offering insight into the progression of new therapies from conceptualization, through cell culture experimentation, to in vivo studies, and ultimately, their application in patients afflicted with hearing impairments.
Ample opportunities for questions and discussions will be provided throughout both the lecture sessions and the laboratory tour.

Hildebrandt
biweekly Group Session, 14 hoursFri 10.04.26, 09:00 - 11:00
The state of the art and literature seminar of the Hildebrandt group at the Institute of Clinical Biochemistry addresses current practical and theoretical aspects in cellular and molecular neuroscience, with a focus set on enzymes that generate neuron- and glia-specific glycotopes involved in cell-cell communication in the nervous system.
Kral
weekly Workshop, 10 hoursFri 17.04.26, 14:30 - 15:30
A weekly meeting of scientists, PhD students and doctoral students of Krals group where relevant neuroscience publications are presented.
Kar
single Seminar, 3 hoursFri 29.05.26, 10:00 - 13:00
The seminar provides an overview to the basic background of non-coding RNAs (microRNAs, long non-coding RNAs etc) in human genome, their biogenesis, classification, functions and their role in human cerebral diseases such as cerebrovascular disorders and tumors.
Additionally, the recent published work as well as ongoing research work from our lab will be presented and discussed.
Following the seminar, there will an interactive question and answer session and the participanting students will have the opportunity for lab visit to get to know the state of the art molecular techniques being utilized for this study. In addition, depending on the availability, students will have the possibility to visit and experience a live brain surgery at the campus.
