Vision/Mission
The vision of the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (TiHo) is to ensure excellent education, cutting-edge medicine and pioneering research in veterinary medicine and the biosciences. The aim is to offer and promote world-leading solutions in the field of animal health and welfare under the paradigm of One Welfare.
The TiHo's mission is to provide evidence-based training for competent veterinarians and professionals in biomedicine and biosciences in order to respond to the major challenges of the present and future and to fulfil society's expectations of the TiHo and its graduates. Teachers and students are guided by high ethical and professional standards and a commitment to lifelong learning. The TiHo sees itself as a guardian of animal health and welfare as well as a pioneer and important partner at the interface of animal, human and environmental health. The research and understanding of fundamental physiological and pathological processes in domestic and wild animals are naturally at the centre of its work. The aim of its research, training and transfer activities is to develop modern veterinary medicine to improve the quality of life of animals and humans in a healthy ecosystem.
