How does the submission of my Bachelor's/Master's thesis work?
Provided that your supervisors agree, you have the possibility to publish your work via our repository TiHo eLib. For a free publication of all university theses, the library operates the repository TiHo-eLib.
Where do I hand in the printed copies for the referees?
To pass on your review copies to the referees, please contact the Biology Department (Bachelor / Master) for Bachelor's and Master's theses.
What do I need to submit my Bachelor's/Master's thesis?
For this we need the following forms from you:
- The declaration of publikation (Veröffentlichungserklärung)
- Supporter of a Master's thesis
- The pdf file of your Bachelor's/Master's thesis (via TiHo-eLib)
For the creation of the PDF file, please note the point „Which technical requirements must the PDF ducument fulfil?“
What do I have to consider when writing the abstract?
Please note that there are the following requirements for the abstract and the summary for a submission to the repository:
- recommended number of characters: around 2000 each (with spaces) ; in Word, under the Review tab on the far left, "Count words".
- Coherent text (no paragraphs / line breaks)
- No chemical formulae (and if only shown as a formula in Word (e.g.: H2O))
- No pictures, tables, enumerations, chemical / graphical representations
These summaries do not have to match the summaries in the PDF document.
Please do not submit automatic translations.
Can I publish additional documents or data on my Bachelor's/Master's thesis?
You are welcome to publish related research data in connection with your dissertation. Usually, it is advisable to create a separate entry in the TiHo eLib for this purpose. Please contact forschungsdaten@tiho-hannover.deafter submitting the PDF document.
How should I name my PDF file?
Please save your PDF file under last name, first letter of first name, hyphen, current year.
Example:
Müstermann, Max; 27.11.2020
Muestermannm-20.pdf
Without umlauts (ä, ö, ü) and/or diacritical marks (à, á, â, ...).
These are resolved: ae, oe, ue and/or a, a, ...
