General information about our e-book portfolio
For a comprehensive digital selection of veterinary literature, we have licensed selected e-book packages on various platforms: These can be searched either directly via the search entry points listed below or via our discovery system VetSearch.
Online access is provided by default via IP authentication from the campus network. Members of our facility also have access via the WLAN eduroam or via VPN (Virtual Private Network) from their own end devices. Depending on the provider platform, external access to licensed content requires a log-in via ezProxy or Shibboleth as shown in the following overview.
Generally, it is only necessary to register on the portals to use personalized services (e.g. markers, reading lists, etc.). The exception to this is the ClinicalKey Student product, which requires a personal user account to access licensed online content.

Thieme VetCenter
The VetCenter offers access to selected e-books (and e-journals) on various topics related to veterinary medicine. In addition, diagnostic guides, information on medical products, various illustrations, a training center and patient information sheets are also available. Over 200 veterinary e-books can be researched, viewed and utilized via the platform. In some cases, digital editions of the books contained in the textbook collection and/or subject groups can also be found here.

The VetCenter also offers the option of making personal notes and markers within the resources and conducting individual training sessions. For these functions, it is necessary to create a personalized VetCenter account within the TiHo network. Further information can be found below.

ClinicalKey Student
The online learning platform ClinicalKey Student offers students and lecturers full-text access to helpful learning tools and approved content. The German-language medical package, which contains over 150 subject-relevant e-books, is licensed for TiHo-members. In order to use this database and its contents, a personal user account must be created in advance. The free initial registration must be done with the TiHo e-mail address and from within the campus network. Alternatively, access can also be set up from home, which requires logging in via Shibboleth.

CABI Digital Library
CABI supports study, practice and research with quality-tested scientific content and services in a wide range of disciplines, including agriculture, forestry and food, environmental and nature sciences, plant sciences, tourism and leisure, veterinary and animal sciences and One Health.
Various modules are licensed from the portfolio, including curated case study collections from the Animal Behaviour and Welfare and One Health segments, the Animal Health & Production compendium with images, maps and diagnostic and decision-making guides, as well as the Animal & Veterinary Science e-book package with over 200 available titles.

Thieme Connect E-Book Archive
Thieme Connect is a platform, which provides online resources (mostly older editions) alongside the VetCenter and thus complements the VetCenter's offering. The licensed e-book archive offers full-text access to 87 veterinary textbook titles.

Elsevier eLibrary
The online editions of the following four textbooks are licensed via the Elsevier eLibrary (Boockshelf TiHo):
