Commission for Equality
The Commission for Equality (KfG) is a so-called 'Permanent Senate Commission' (NHG §42(1)). The KfG develops proposals for the university management and the Senate on the implementation of gender equality. The Senate issues the work assignments on the proposal of the gender equality commissioner.
On 04.06.2024, the TiHo Senate unanimously adopted the 5th update of the Gender Equality Plan in agreement with the Presidential Board with a term until 31.12.2027. Due to the TiHo's accession to the Diversity Charter in May 2021, the KfG has expanded the range of activities in this version to include further aspects of diversity. The field of equality work at the TiHo is now broader than the legal requirements.
As an ongoing task, the commission's activities include advising on the use of the TiHo Fund for Equality for measures to achieve equality.
In addition to such 'major tasks', however, the commission also advocates for 'smaller' concerns. Anyone who works or studies at our university can turn to it to point out grievances or to contribute ideas and suggestions for improvement.
The chairwoman of the KfG is Prof. Franziska Richter Assencio. Her deputy is Prof. Sandra Goericke-Pesch.
