The RTG „Virus detection, pathogenesis and intervention“ will cover complex health issues displayed by emerging and re-emerging viruses by an interdisciplinary approach. The curriculum includes a variety of en-block schools and courses covering the chain of events in virus emergence, from virus discovery, isolation, molecular, surveillance and pathogenesis towards animal and public health impact as well as intervention strategies including new approaches for prevention  and control.
