Enrollment for doctoral studies

You must be enrolled as a doctoral student at TiHo during your doctoral studies.

Enrolment for doctoral studies is only possible within the following periods:

• Enrolment for the summer semester 2025: 20.01.2025 - 01.04.2025
• Enrolment for the winter semester 2025/26: 14.07.2025 - 01.10.2025

Enrollment for the Dr. med. vet. degree: Please also note that according to § 6 of the Doctoral Degree Regulations 2025, you have to submit your dissertation announcement (including proof of attendance of the statistics course and literature research course) to the Doctoral office within 1 semester after enrollment.

Re-registration for doctoral studies

As in undergraduate degree programs, you must also re-register for doctoral studies every semester if you wish to continue your studies.

• On this page you will also find information on a possible exemption from the semester ticket (semester fee for students and doctoral candidates). As a doctoral candidate, please submit the application for exemption from the Germany semester ticket to the Doctoral Office within the re-registration deadlines.
• You can apply for a leave of absence together with the relevant proof via your account under the self-service functions - Selbstbedienfunktion - Studienservice in TiHo-Studis.
