Video conferencing systems provide the opportunity to conduct digital events in real-time with optional audio and video transmission. Furthermore, with video conferencing systems, you have the option to share your screen or individual applications with other participants.

Microsoft® Teams

Microsoft® Teams is primarily used for online lectures and seminars at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover and is available free of charge to all staff and students. The credentials for logging in are IDMNumber@tiho-hannover.de and the regular associated password. 

Microsoft® Teams combines the capabilities of exchanging information through meetings, chats, notes, and attachments. The Microsoft® Teams platform allows for conducting conferences both in real-time with the option of recording and also offers the ability to distribute tasks to participants in breakout rooms, collaborate virtually on the Microsoft® Teams whiteboard, and conduct surveys using Microsoft® Forms.

Adobe® Connect™ (using the DFNCONF SERVICE)

Adobe® Connect™ is part of the DFNconf service, which is provided by the German Research Network (Deutsches Forschungsnetz), of which the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover is a member. The use of Adobe® Connect™ via the DFNconf service is free for members of the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover. You have the ability to plan, conduct, and record events for up to 200 participants.

Adobe® Connect™ allows you to host meetings and seminars where audio and video can be transmitted, your screen can be shared with other participants, and your own files can be uploaded for the conference. Additionally, Adobe® Connect™ provides features such as a polling tool, chat function as well as a whiteboard for virtual collaboration.

BigBlueButton™

BigBlueButton™ is available free of charge to all employees and students of the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover via the Academic Cloud. With BigBlueButton™ you have the opportunity to conduct digital events with larger groups.
