Providing educational video material is gaining significant importance in the field of e-learning and, when integrated into the teaching concept, offers added value for students. In-house studies conducted by Müller et al. (2019) confirm the popularity of instructional videos at the TiHo. Students particularly find videos on practical skills to be 'very helpful' in supporting their learning process.

The project 'FERTHIK - Teaching veterinary clinical skills under special recognition of ethical aspects' established the TiHoVideos YouTube channel in 2012. Through the 'eCULT+ - eCompetence and Utilities for Learners and Teachers' project, which was worked on in the E-Learning Service from 2016 to 2020, video material for students was also created and published publicly or privately listed via the TiHoVideos YouTube channel. The eCult+ project enabled the production of course-related video material.

Additionally, as part of the project 'InZukunft - Nutrition of the future: insects and alternative protein sources - a solution for upcoming societal challenges?', videos were produced in collaboration with scientists from the Institute for Food Quality and Food Safety, most of which are recipe videos focussing on entomophagy, i.e. the consumption of edible insects. This project ran until the end of 2022.

Currently, another project is underway in the E-Learning Service, in which video material is being produced. As the use of video material within courses has increased enormously during the COVID-19 pandemic, the project 'FERVET - Digital teaching and review of clinical practical skills in veterinary medicine from an animal welfare perspective' aims to produce numerous new videos. In the E-Learning Service, FERVET aims to support the accompanying video production for new and existing learning stations in the Clinical Skills Lab, as well as the expansion of video production at the TiHo. Additionally, the implementation of annotations in videos for interactive and video-based exercises is planned.

The staff of the E-Learning Service are happy to support you in planning, implementing, and using video material in your lectures.

As part of the AVVP project, we have acquired a lending kit for lecturers. This kit contains equipment designed to facilitate and enhance the production of lecture recordings and educational videos.
