Since 2019 research centre of the TiHo.
WING was founded in 2012 as ‘Science and Information Centre for Sustainable Poultry Production’ and has been implemented at the University of Vechta. Under the leadership of Prof Hans-Wilhelm Windhorst, the declared aim was to initiate new research projects, communicate existing research findings and bring consumers into contact with poultry farms.
WING has been conducting research at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover Foundation (TiHo) since 1 October 2019. The content focus of WING has expanded with the move to the TiHo. WING employees are increasingly researching scientific issues relating to animal welfare, animal health, animal husbandry and sustainability. The primary goal is to gather new findings for the future-oriented production of poultry meat and eggs. Due to its broad-based expertise, the TiHo is the ideal location to pursue research questions or issues relating to poultry farming. Further information can be found under Research.
