TOTAL E-QUALITY award for the TiHo

The TiHo is committed to equal professional opportunities for men and women. For this commitment, the university received the TOTAL E-QUALITY award in 2011, in 2014, in 2017 and in 2020, each for three years. The jury's reasoning from 2020 states:

"TiHo's very successful gender equality work is reflected in extensive, tailored and often innovative measures that span all fields of action. The focus on academic personnel development from the post-doc phase onwards with the existing programs is assessed as extremely meaningful. The jury is particularly pleased that the TiHo's commitment to equality has not diminished in recent years and that the areas of organizational and personnel development and organizational culture have been further developed."

TOTAL E-QUALITY Deutschland e.V. aims to establish and sustainably anchor equal opportunities for women and men in the workplace. The focus is on promoting women in management positions. TOTAL E-QUALITY stands for Total Quality Management - supplemented by the gender component Equality.

The association was founded in 1996 by representatives of major German companies and the German Federal Ministries of Education, Science, Research and Technology and of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, and today has almost 100 members. Each year, the initiative awards the TOTAL E-QUALITY award for successful or sustainable commitment in the sense of life event-oriented personnel management. The German government and the leading associations of the German economy have been recommending TOTAL E-QUALITY since 2001. Equality has become quality assurance and is increasingly integrated into the core tasks of the university - research, teaching, continuing education, personnel and organizational development.
