Responsibilities of the Master’s Department
The main role of the Master’s Committee is to represent the interests of Master’s students within the AStA.
In addition, as a committee member, you will also take on general duties within the AStA: these include regularly attending meetings and passing on relevant information and announcements to Master’s students.
You will also support the AStA in organising and running events, such as the blood donation drive or the welcome and farewell events. Once a term, your duties will also include drafting the minutes of a meeting.
Master’s degree programme at TiHo
The degree programme is relatively small, with around 20 students per year group.
This creates a very close-knit atmosphere, particularly in the first semester. As the modules during this period are mainly held together in a fixed seminar room, it almost feels like a traditional ‘classroom’. This is further enhanced by the fact that year representatives are elected in the first semester.
As the course progresses, particularly in the second and third semesters, the cohort is spread more widely across different working groups due to the practical components. Whilst this means there is slightly less close interaction, it also provides exciting insights into academic workflows and allows students to get to know different departments.
