For foreign applicants who are not from member states of the European Union as well as foreign and stateless applicants who do not have a German university entrance qualification, a quota of 5 percent of the study places is available.


You cannot apply directly for the veterinary medicine course at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover; this is done exclusively via Uni Assist. Uni Assist checks whether your school-leaving certificate is sufficient to take up studies at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover. If this is not the case, you will have to take an additional examination ("Feststellungsprüfung" at the Studienkolleg). Your application will then be forwarded to us by Uni Assist.

If you want to study in Germany, you need a so-called higher education entrance qualification (HZB).

Which application documents must be submitted?

You can download the application for admission and the list of member universities of uni-assist at:
www.uni‐assist.de/online/

You only need to submit one set of application documents. Please do not submit the originals of your documents, but officially certified copies of your certificates and their translation. You can obtain these from embassies, consulates, offices of public order, notary's offices and universities.

You must submit the following certificates and proofs:

  • The completed and signed application for admission with your email address.
  • School leaving certificate with overview of grades, possibly further proof of university entrance examination, matriculation or studies in your home country (with overview of grades of academic achievements)
  • Translation of all documents into German
  • German language skills for confirmation of higher education entrance qualification in Germany
  • Photocopy of the page of your passport, with name and passport photo
  • Payment slip for the uni-assist processing fee

How much is the cost contribution for processing uni-assist?

You must also submit proof of payment to uni-assist with your application. You can transfer the fee by direct debit from a German bank account or by credit card (VISA - or Mastercard). You can find more information on the following page:Sie hier https://www.uni-assist.de/bewerben/kosten-zahlen/
The costs amount to 75€ for the first study request, each further study request then costs 30€.

 

Until when do I have to apply?

Applications for the winter semester 2022/2023 start around mid-April 2022, and the closing date for applications is 15 July 2022.

What happens after the application?

If you meet the formal requirements for an application, you will be informed by ASSIST and your record will be forwarded to the university. You will then receive a corresponding notification from the university. An admission is only valid for the respective application semester.
