The Eberhard Lienhop Memorial Award appreciates excellent doctoral dissertations in the field of veterinary food hygiene.

The Founder
The Eberhard Lienhop Foundation was launched by Dr. Dieter Stanislawski and Professor Dr. Carsten Gissel. They want to keep name and merits of Dr. Eberhard Lienhop in mind. At the same time, contact with TiHo should be maintained and research in the field of food sciences should be promoted. The veterinarian Dr. Eberhard Lienhop died in 1992. During his professional activities at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover and as specialist for food hygiene in the institute founded by him, he made a major contribution to the development of uniform assessment criteria for meat products and the introduction of high industrial hygiene standards in Germany.

The Award
The Eberhard Lienhop Memorial Award recognizes excellent dissertations in the field of veterinary food hygiene prepared at the University of Veterinary Medicine. Results of the work should have been accepted for publication by a peer-reviewed international journal. The award is endowed with 1,000 euros and is presented annually on the occasion of the doctoral graduation ceremony in the winter semester.

Application and deadlines
The habilitated members of the teaching staff of the University of Veterinary Medicine are invited to propose dissertations worthy of award to the President. The proposal should be accompanied by three copies of the appropriate dissertation. The dissertation must have been submitted no earlier than the winter dissertation of the previous year; literature papers are not eligible for the award. The author must not have received full payment from a plan or research position.
