The University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover is expected to award 15-20 German scholarships for the grant period October 2024 to September 2025 to students with excellent performance in their studies.
The different application deadlines can be found below. The notification of approval and rejection is expected to be sent out at the beginning of October 2024. The scholarship will be paid for one year from October 2024 to September 2025.
In addition to above-average performance in studies, social and political commitment as well as special personal and family circumstances are also taken into account when awarding scholarships.
The scholarship holders receive a grant of 300 EUR per month. EUR 150 is provided by companies, foundations, associations and private sponsors. The other half is contributed by the federal government in the form of a matching fund.
Students in undergraduate studies in veterinary medicine and in the consecutive master's courses "Animal Biology and Biomedical Sciences" and "Food Process and Product Engineering" can apply. Students who are enrolled to pursue a doctorate are not eligible for funding. During the funding period, the recipient must be enrolled at the TiHo.
The application for the scholarship can be made before enrollment. Scholarships are awarded irrespective of income and can be combined with BAföG funding. A scholarship will not be awarded if the student receives other talent and performance-based material support (over 30 EUR / month). The Presidential Board has established a selection committee for the selection of scholarship holders.
