Evaluation by the EAEVE

In 2018, the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover Foundation was positively evaluated by the European Association for Establishments of Veterinary Education (EAEVE). The EAEVE regularly evaluates training centers for veterinary medicine in Europe on behalf of the EU, in order to guarantee a high standard in the training of veterinarians all over Europe.

The program of the experts included short visits in the courses, conversations with students, professors, research assistants and employees from technical service and administration.

The aim of the evaluation should be to check whether the TiHo meets the minimum requirements for veterinary training set out in an EU directive. After the positive evaluation, the TiHo will be included in a list of educational institutions for veterinary medicine evaluated and approved by the EAEVE.  With inclusion in this list, the state examinations taken at the TiHo will be recognized at European educational institutions. Occupational freedom within the EU and possibly beyond is also associated with this.

On behalf of ECOVE, who met on 30 May 2018,  the Evaluation result based on the ESEVT Full Visitation to your Establishment on 15-19 January 2018 was as follows:

In accordance with the European System of Evaluation of Veterinary Training (ESEVT) and based on the educational requirements of the Directive 2005/36/EC as amended by Directive 2013/55/EU, the status of the ’ University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (TiHo Hannover)’ is ACCREDITATION.
