  • 2013 – 2019: Veterinary Medicine Studies at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Foundation
  • 2019 - 2022: PhD student and research associate at ITAW (Institute for Terrestrial and Aquatic Wildlife Research)
  • Since 2022: Postdoctoral researcher at ITAW

Focus of Work

  • Dissertation: Health monitoring of Common Eiders (Somateria mollissima) from the Western Baltic Sea and potential impact of TNT and other toxic compounds of dumped warfare on their health
  • Conflict management in the area of fisheries/shellfish farming with eider ducks and health checks of eider ducks
  • Health monitoring of marine mammals
  • Development of a monitoring and assessment concept for the pollution load of marine mammals of the North Sea and Baltic Sea for the implementation of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD)

Continuing education

  • Since 2019: Veterinary specialization in Wild Animals and Species Protection
  • Since 2024: Postgradual studies: Ecotoxicology (specialist ecotoxicologist) of the GDCh / SETAC GLB

  • 2024: Prize of the Baltic Sea Research Foundation for an outstanding doctoral thesis in the field of research of the fauna and flora of the Baltic Sea
