Collection of samples and transport
The clinical usability and thus the significance of examination results depends mainly on the collection and selection of samples and their transport to the laboratory. We will gladly advise you on the selection of suitable examination material regarding your inquiery.
Optimal conditions can be expected for microbiological tests under the following conditions:
-Sample collection at the time of highest pathogen excretion
-Sample collection before the start of antibiotic therapy
-Transport to the laboratory as quick as possible
-Shipment in special transport media
The duration of the bacteriological examination depends on the bacteria isolated (1 day to four weeks). Please note that the susceptibility testing takes an additional working day.
