Another field of activity of WING is the transfer of knowledge on poultry husbandry and the production of eggs or poultry meat. Scientific findings are fundamental here in relation to socially relevant topics and trends. Aspects from research as well as from practice are fully taken into account. Another important goal is to improve the dialogue between those working in agriculture and the general public. The communication of WING concentrates on the following main topics:

  • How are sustainability, animal welfare, animal health and environmental protection implemented in poultry farming?
  • How sustainable and healthy is the feeding of poultry?
  • How must agri-food systems be set up to produce in a sustainable, socially acceptable and economically viable manner?
  • What challenges are identified in poultry farming and egg and poultry meat production?
  • What influence does the global change in nutrition have on traditional diets and current production priorities in the agricultural and food industry?
  • How can developments in the market-oriented poultry meat and egg production be explained at a national and global level?

All existing school types with their respective higher grades as well as vocational colleges or universities are the target groups for WING’s knowledge transfer. The general public, people active in politics and in the media, NGOs or interest groups are also included.
