Congenital anomalies/misformations occur during the development of living beings in the womb. The causes are very diverse. Environmental factors, such as infectious agents or high fever, but also genetic factors, i.e. changes in the genetic material, can lead to congenital malformations (anomalies). Malformed animals are often not viable or are aborted or the animals die soon after birth.
To get to the bottom of the cause of hereditary malformations, we collect samples from animals with congenital malformations. The goal is to reduce the occurrence of these anomalies through new knowledge.
All reports of malformed animals are kept strictly confidential and are not passed on to third parties.
