Project description

Based on the results of the earlier study, examinations are to be added by full necropsies of all organ systems in order to detect possible relations between lesions in the hearing organ and in other organ systems. The whale inner ear in principle has a similar composition compared to terrestrial mammals including the human cochlea. This is why it is planned to install additional otolaryngological methods. We hope to better identify and differentiate potential mechanical and physiological damages due to noise within the Organ of Corti.
