Leonie Fingerhut

Leonie Fingerhut graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Leipzig University in 2018.

Afterwards, she worked in a project on animal welfare indicators in dairy cattle at the Faculty of Organic Agricultural Sciences at the University of Kassel. At the beginning of 2019, Leonie came to the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover.

As a PhD-student within the program “Animal and Zoonotic Infections” at the Hannover Graduate School for Veterinary Pathobiology, Neuroinfectiology, and Translational Medicine (HGNI) she investigates the role of neutrophil extracellular trap formation in equine recurrent uveitis. This project between the Institute for Biochemistry and the Clinic for Horses is supervised by Prof. Dr. Maren von Köckritz-Blickwede, Dr. Nicole de Buhr and Prof. Dr. Bernhard Ohnesorge. The goal is to study the cellular processes during this common eye disease of the horse.
