Applications and Bioinformatics of
Next-Generation Sequencing


The modern technology of next-generation sequencing provides a wide range of applications that are most useful to answer current questions in genetics and biomedical research.

In this workshop an overview of typical experimental settings and the related bioinformatics pipelines that can be conducted with NGS is presented.

  • Data processing and quality control
  • IT infrastructure and data storage
  • Bioinformatics pipelines for variant detection, genome assembly, DNASeq, RNASeq and further topics according to interests
  • Presentation of an example project
