2nd step: Arrange an appointment with the head of the department or clinic that interests you.

5th step: Recieve the decision of the PhD committee
Dates for submitting application:
The programme starts twice a year in parallel to the summer and winter terms.
Application is possible during the whole year.

Project description:
The project description (max. 10 pages) should be written by the PhD applicant in cooperation with the supervisor. It should contain:
1. Subject (English and German)
2. Summary (at most 15 lines)
3. Current State of Research
· State of knowledge in the area of your project
· The initial question and the resulting necessary tasks
(Provide quotes from only a few relevant sources.)
4. Preliminary Work
· Preliminary tests, established methods or models
· Earlier publications or dissertation projects from within the working group that related to the proposed project.
It should be mentioned whether these preliminary study have been carried out by the student or a member of the working group.
5. Aim
· Aim and working hypothesis should be summarized
6. Study design
6a. material:
· describing cell cultures/laboratory animals completely if necessary
· indicate the approval of the ethics commission if necessary
6b. methods:
· if published: short description with source
· if methods must be developed, or if a further development of an already established method is a major part of your project, then this should be fully described.
7. Time Schedule
· Timetable with an overview of the future project.
· Evaluation and writing of the thesis should be included.
