The following describes the established PhD-program
The Center for Systems Neuroscience (ZSN), Hannover, Germany, an interdisciplinary research center combining working groups of the University of Veterinary Medicine, the Medical School, the University of Music and Theater and the University of Hannover, cordially invites graduates of various life sciences (biology, veterinary and human medicine, biochemistry and affiliated natural sciences, such as e.g. physics) to pursue a research project leading to a PhD or Dr. rer. nat. (Start: October 1st, 2010). In the 3-year-program PhD-students will gain broad multidisciplinary knowledge in the field of neuroscience and develop valuable complementary skills.
Neuroscience represents a complex emerging research field and includes the interaction between various disciplines ranging from neurobiology, behavioral science, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and pathology as well as molecular biology. The Center of Systems Neuroscience (ZSN) is prepared to provide the base and guidelines for an excellent training in neuroscience. Successful candidates should be prepared to combat the up-coming challenges in neuroscience.
The program includes a variety of courses, seminars and lab classes organized in a Graduate School-like manner.
