Protein sorting

To investigate the influence of each of the four homologous domains of Lactase-Phlorizin Hydrolase (LPH) on the structural and functional characteristics of pro-LPH, domain deletion mutants have been generated. Our data demonstrate that a hierarchy of the domains exists and that the pro-sequence of human LPH modulates the folding of the mature enzyme.
