Pets - what do you eat?

Welcome to the survey on feeding practices in our pets. At the Institute for Animal Nutrition from the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Foundation, we would like to investigate how our dogs and cats are fed today and how developments in feeding practices are likely to be in the future.

Answering the following questions will take about 6 - 8 minutes.

Data protection notice and declaration of consent

1. Purpose of processing

We collect and process personal data for participation in the above survey. The purpose of this survey "Pets - what do you eat?" is to record feeding habits in dogs and cats. In this context, the extent to which demographic characteristics have an influence on the feeding of pets beyond their own diet will also be recorded. The results of the survey will be used by the Institute of Animal Nutrition for research, lecture and publication purposes; if personal information is available, it will be anonymized beforehand, Art. 6 I 1 lit. e in conjunction with 89 GDPR, § 3 I 1 No. 1 NHG, § 13 NDSG.

2. Legal basis of the processing

Participation in the survey is voluntary. When completing the survey, your IP address is transmitted to the clinic server and stored there - at least temporarily. Additionally, your age, your profession and your nutritional habits will be processed. By participating in the survey, you consent to this storage pursuant to Art. 6 I 1 lit. a GDPR. If you decide to specify your gender you consent to the processing of special categories of personal data pursuant to Art. 9 I, II lit. a GDPR. All data will be treated securely and confidentially. The survey was designed using software provided for this purpose by LimeSurvey on the clinic server. In addition, privacy notices from LimeSurvey can be viewed online at: https://www.limesurvey.org/de/richtlinien/datenschutzrichtlinie. The possibility of use for teaching, research, lecture and publication purposes arises from Art. 6 I 1 lit. e GDPR in conjunction with. § 13 NDSG.

3. Duration of processing

The personal data will be stored for the duration of the survey and the research project beyond. Deletion takes place automatically, at the latest 6 months after the end of the project. Legal storage obligations remain unaffected.

4. Rights of the data subjects

You have a right vis-à-vis the institution mentioned below to information about the personal data concerning you and, if applicable, to correction, deletion or to restriction of the processing of this data and a right to object to the processing as well as a possible right to data portability. You may revoke your consent, if any, at any time with effect for the future, Art. 7 III GDPR. In addition, you have a right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of personal data concerning you violates the law. The competent supervisory authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Lower Saxony.
